Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments

Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards-S.

  • Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.

  • Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress.

  • Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.

  • Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.

reflection

        The use of cutting-edge technology tools in today's classroom can stimulate learning and increase information retention.

        I created a training course for new employees to our school district.  This training session produce valuable learning related to Powerschool, the program that is used daily fro grading and attendance.  The training meets this standard because the participants become active learners by exploring the software under the teacher's supervision.  They are given the freedom to work at their own pace and determine for themselves which area needs more remediation.

        The Internet Safety Rubric provides reflective experiences for each individual student.  Learners are provided with vital feedback that identifies their strengths and weaknesses and allows them to make improvements to the future.

        The Schoology course is another online source that can be used to easily set up courses free.  I believe a Schoology course meets all components of this standard.  It is a customizable  source that allows students to work at their own pace seeing their progress as they go.  It also allows many learning styles to be reached through differentiated instruction.

Future Learning Goals
I have had the opportunity to help build online courses for MDE in conjunction with RCU at Mississippi State University.  I hope using these skills I can continue to contribute to help students and teachers with current tools to authenticate the learning experience and evaluation.  I also hope to continue building customized courses for my school district and classes to reach all learners needs.
